Place was well appointed and close to all that Whitefish has to offer. Checkin and checkout were seemless.

The house is really nice and updated, and includes all the right amenities. Beds were very comfortable. Close to local restaurants and the lake. Very accommodating for our dog.

Where are our Glacier National Park cabin rentals?

Tucked away in the northwest corner of Montana lies the Flathead Valley – a densely forested and sparsely populated area bordered by Glacier National Park to its east and sprawling Flathead Lake to its west. Home of the majestic Swan and Mission Ranges, as well as a bevy of quaint towns, the outdoor options here are as vast as its 5,000 square miles of Big Sky country. From rocketing down Big Mountain's powder-laden ski slopes near the small mountain town of Whitefish, to exploring Flathead Lake aboard the Far West tour boat, or indulging in a fresh pint of locally-brewed beer at Tamarack Brewing Company in Lakeside, the Flathead Valley presents numerous year-round activities to keep you entertained outside of Glacier National Park.

Best of all, you’ll never have to venture far from Glacier National Park with our variety of nearby cabin rentals. Only minutes from your front doors to the park entrance, our vacation rentals at the West Glacier entrance are closest, followed by charming Coram and Columbia Falls rentals, which lie just south on Highway 2.

Things to do near our Glacier National Park vacation rentals

Perhaps no American highway is more emblematic of a national park than Going-to-the-Sun Road. Completed in 1933, it still stands as a feat of modern engineering. Beginning at Apgar Visitor Center, the park's west entrance, this bold road winds along steep cliffsides and jaw-dropping mountain passes for 50 miles, reaching a top elevation of 6,646 feet as it crosses over the Continental Divide. Take a drive on it during summer and you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of Lake McDonald’s deep cerulean blue tones, a sea of wildflowers at Reynold’s Mountain, and even sightings of curious Bighorn sheep wandering onto the roadside. Be sure to time your trip right - once it starts snowing, this road is inaccessible.

Visitors have long come to Glacier National Park to photograph its breathtaking scenery and variety of wildlife. While there are many picture-perfect landscapes to shoot, a few favorites include the stunningly reflective surface of Lake McDonald, the craggy cliffs of the Grinnell Glacier Trail, and dazzling pink and purple-hued sunsets over Granite Park Chalet. Luckily, with a plethora of guided tours available by boat, bus, or horseback, you’re sure to get the perfect shot.

Hikers will find their fix on nearly 700 miles of trail within the park. For an easy day hike, check out the Hidden Lake Trail off of Logan Pass - an excursion that is less than three miles roundtrip and includes panoramic views of the elusive lake and its surrounding alpine meadows and jagged peaks. Those looking for more of a challenge should venture to either Highline Trail (about seven and a half miles), Iceberg Lake Trail (about nine and a half miles), or Avalanche Lake Trail (five and a half miles).

Fishing, boating, cycling, and cross-country skiing are also popular park pastimes, with local companies and park-based outfitters providing opportunities for guided trips. And with no fishing license needed to fish the park’s lakes (just observe the posted rules and fish limits for each body of water), you can even catch your own wild trout for a fresh, tasty meal back at your cabin.

Find your perfect getaway in one of our Glacier National Park cabin rentals in Flathead Valley and beyond.
